Rickman Under Consideration for Ga. Court of Appeals

Mountain Judicial Circuit District Attorney Brian Rickman is one of 11 people still under consideration by the state for a post on Georgia’s Court of Appeals.

The state has three new appellate court judgeships to fill within the Court of Appeals for the State of Georgia.

These new judgeships were created by the passage of House Bill 279 during the 2015 session of the Georgia General Assembly.

Rickman has made it through all of the initial rounds of interviews for the Court of Appeals that were conducted by Georgia’s Judicial Nominating Commission.

As one of the 11 finalists for the position, Rickman will now interview with Georgia Governor Nathan Deal.

Governor Deal will fill these three new judgeships from this list of 11 finalists.

Rickman has served as the Mountain Judicial Circuit District Attorney, serving Stephens, Habersham, and Rabun counties, since 2008.

There is no word on when the Governor’s Office will announce the three individuals who will fill the new Court of Appeals posts.
