stolen-vanLavonia Police are asking for the public’s help to find the suspect who took a white van from a local health services company.

According to Lavonia Police Investigator Captain Daniel Carson, it happened sometime Monday evening.

“It was stolen between 4:30p and midnight on the evening of February 9, from the Home Base Healthcare here in Lavonia” he said. “The van had a credit card in it. It was used in the Athens area, at a gas station in Hull, and also at a Walmart on Epps Bridge Parkway. A recovered video from Wal-mart shows the suspect getting into the stolen van.”

The van is a white, 2006 Ford E-250 Cargo van. The suspect is described as a white male with what appears to be a beard.

At the time he was captured on surveillance video, he was wearing a tan jacket, blue jeans and a blue shirt with a white baseball cap.

Carson said it is believed the suspect is still in the area.

“We believe he’s still in the Northeast Georgia area, possibly towards the Athens-Clarke County, Madison County, in that area since that’s the way he was headed,” Carson said. “No sign of the van. The van was entered into GCIC as stolen. The tag number is ANB-3579.”

Anyone who has seen this van or has any information on the identity or whereabouts of the suspect is asked to contact Lavonia Police at 706-356-4848 or your local 911.
