People First Hosts Annual Christmas Party

A local organization hosts its annual Christmas Party to give back to a fellow organization in the community.

People First of Stephens County held its annual Christmas Party for the Peer Center Tuesday at the Peer Center.

The Peer Center provides a safe place where individuals receive support towards hope and mental health recovery.

Meanwhile, People First of Stephens County is an advocacy group for individuals with disabilities.

People First Supporter Jeraldine Hayes said that they enjoy hosting this party for the Peer Center each year.

“A lot of these folks do not have a lot, so People First decided a number of years ago to provide a party for them,” said Hayes. “Everyone here, we have about 46 people, will receive gift cards.”

The party also includes a meal of chicken and dressing, sides, and dessert.

The gift cards and meal were provided by People First of Stephens County, the Allen’s United Methodist Church women’s group out of Franklin County, and numerous individuals.

Hayes said that People First appreciates everyone who contributes to make the party and the gift cards possible each year.
