North Hall Stops Indian Winning Streak at 3

A big fourth inning pushes North Hall past Stephens County in Region 8-AAAA baseball.

The Trojans batted around in the fourth inning and scored six runs on their way to a 12-2 win over the Indians Friday night at the Reservation.

Stephens County started the game off in good shape as Evan Rumsey gave the Indians a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first with a solo home run.

Then in the bottom of the third inning, Konnor Quick tripled down the right field line and scored on a Houston Mullinax ground out to give the Indians a 2-0 lead.

However, North Hall sent 10 men to the plate in their six-run top of the fourth inning to take a 6-2 lead.

Then, the Indians committed five errors over the rest of the game to help North Hall add six more runs for the final score of 12-2.

Rumsey took the loss for the Indians on the mound, while Corbin Lewallen went six innings for the Trojans to pick up the win.

The loss drops the Indians to 9-6 overall and 4-3 in the region. It also breaks a three-game winning streak for Stephens County.

Meanwhile, North Hall moves to 10-4 overall and 5-2 in the region with the win.

The two teams play again at North Hall Monday at 5:55 p.m.

Monday’s game will not be broadcast because of the broadcast of the public hearing on the proposed closing of Eastanollee Elementary.
