No Injuries Reported After Monday Vehicle Fire on By-pass

A car is destroyed but no injuries were reported after a vehicle fire on the Toccoa By-pass Monday.

Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley said it happened just before 7 p.m. Monday on the southbound side of the By-pass near Trestle Ridge Road.

Shirley said a woman from Cornelia was traveling on the by-pass towards Toccoa.

According to the sheriff, the woman told first responders that the vehicle was overheating and then caught fire.

Carnes Creek Volunteer Fire Department responded to the call.

The Toyota driven by the woman was completely burned and inoperable, but no other vehicles were damaged.
