Mrs. Patricia Ann Verner Garland

Mrs. Patricia Ann Verner Garland, age 85 of Brookdale Road, Toccoa, GA, passed away June 28, 2024, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA.

Patricia was the daughter of the late Lester and Francis Byrd Verner and was born September 6,1938, in Stephens County where she lived most of her life.  She was a graduate of Toccoa High School where she was a Majorette. Patricia and her husband, Grant, lived in Suriname, South America, for a number of years before moving back to Toccoa to start a family. They were the Owners and Operators of Club RVA for many years. Later, Patricia sold insurance then worked at Los Amigos Mexican Restaurant in Toccoa as Hostess and Beverage Manager.  She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Francis Verner, her husband Dewey Grant Garland, an infant daughter and a son Malcolm Derrick Garland.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law: Kevin and Kecia Garland of Cumming, GA, and Heath Garland of Toccoa, GA, grandchildren: Jake and Stephanie Garland, Taylor Garland, Presley Garland and a great-grandson: Sincere Julian Garland, sisters: Gloria Verner Elrod of Toccoa, Lisa Verner McCracken of Toccoa and her stepmother Margaret Verner Roberts of Toccoa and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm, Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Reverend Ronnie Collins and the Reverend Jerrell Beatty officiating. The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Tuesday from 1:00 pm until the service hour.

The following will serve as pallbearers: Bryan Kesler, David O’Kelly, Mark Randall, Flay Dalrymple, Justin Sullens and Ryan Rennels .

Interment will be in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of arrangement for Mrs. Patricia Garland.
