Movie Filming in Toccoa

Filming is underway in Toccoa and Stephens County on a movie that will air nationwide later this year.

INSP Films is in Toccoa now to shoot its next feature film, “Heritage Falls.”

Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce President Julie Paysen said that crews began filming Wednesday at Toccoa Falls.

Other locations for filming include Trembly Bald, downtown Toccoa, and the old Stephens County High School gym.

“It is very exciting,” said Paysen. “They are going to be a great first face into this industry for Toccoa and Stephens County.”

The film’s producer and Vice President of INSP Films, Gary Wheeler, was at Tuesday’s Stephens County Board of Education meeting to work out an agreement to rent out the old Stephens County High School gym for filming.

He said “Heritage Falls” is a dramatic comedy that follows three generations of men as they venture out for a rugged weekend retreat in the name of family.

Wheeler went on to say they are thrilled to be in Toccoa to film.

“This is my third one in Georgia and first one in Toccoa and we are really excited,” said Wheeler.

Filming is expected to wrap in early May on the film.

“Heritage Falls” stars David Keith, Coby Ryan McLaughlin, and Keean Johnson.

It is scheduled for release by INSP Films and Imagicomm Entertainment in September 2016 and is scheduled to air in the Fall on the INSP Network, of which INSP Films is a part.
