Man Arrested in Cornelia Bank Robbery

Reports indicate that charges have been filed in the Christmas week armed robbery of a Cornelia bank.

According to a report on accessnorthga.com, the Cornelia Police Department announced Thursday afternoon that 36-year-old Stephen James Villavasso of Norcross faces warrants from the GBI for the December armed robbery of Traditions Bank on Cannon Bridge Road in Cornelia.

The accessnorthga.com report stated Villavasso was arrested by Johns Creek Police Department on January 26 after allegedly robbing a bank in Johns Creek.

In the report, it said a follow-up interview by the GBI after Villavasso was apprehended in Johns Creek resulted in the armed robbery charges in Habersham County.

The Traditions Bank in Cornelia was robbed back during the early afternoon hours of December 22.

No one was injured and an undisclosed amount of money was taken.
