The Toccoa 11 and 12-year-old softball All-Star team brings a district title home from Clayton.
Toccoa defeated Franklin County in the 11-12 softball district title game Wednesday night in Clayton by a 13-2 score in four innings.
Toccoa scored 12 runs in the opening inning and never looked back.
MacKenzie Rogers, Ivey Andrews, Natalie Morgan, and Alanna Dunson all had two hits a piece in the opening frame for Toccoa.
Rogers also threw a complete game for Toccoa, allowing just two runs and two hits.
The 11 and 12-year-old Toccoa softball team will begin play at states in Columbus on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the Toccoa 9 and 10-year-old softball All-Stars came up just short in their district final Wednesday night in Clayton, losing 5-3 to Hart County.
Toccoa had leads of 1-0 and 3-2, but could not hang on as Hart County picked up the timely hits needed to move on.
Madison Rogers had two hits and an RBI for Toccoa. Aly Singletary pitched a complete game for Toccoa, striking out six and allowing just four hits.
One more Toccoa All-Star team will strive for a district title tonight.
The Toccoa 11 and 12-year-old baseball All-Stars beat Franklin County 13-6 Wednesday night in Danielsville to move on to tonight’s final.
Toccoa will face Hart County, who defeated Madison County 10-7 in the other semi-final.
