Investigation Continues Into Habersham Shooting Last Week

Final details are still not yet available in the shooting deaths of two men in eastern Habersham County, near the Stephens County line, as the investigation continues.

The shooting took place on Key Road, off of Dicks Hill Parkway, early in the afternoon of Wednesday, March 25, according to the Northeast Georgian.

The Northeast Georgian identified the victims as 77-year-old Hershel Key and 68-year-old Ronald Ramey, both of Key Road.

According to the paper’s report, authorities said both men died of gunshot wounds.

Habersham County Sheriff Joey Terrell told the Northeast Georgian that the two men were neighbors and prior to the shooting, had engaged in an apparent dispute, one he calls “long-running.”

The report indicated no charges were forthcoming.
