Indians Take First Game From Titans

The Stephens County Indian baseball team moves back above .500 in region play with a big road win.

Stephens County exploded for 14 hits on the way to a 10-1 win Wednesday in Bogart over North Oconee in Region 8-AAAA play.

Dylan Simpson had two doubles and four RBI’s to pace the Indian attack, including a bases-loaded double in the top of the third to break open a one-run game.

The Indians also got offensive help from Zach Boyd, who had two hits and two RBIs, Houston Mullinax, who had a two-run double, and Konnor Quick and Ben Cleveland who each had an RBI.

Cleveland and Davis McCall each had three hits for the Indians. McCall also scored three runs for Stephens County.

On the mound, Tristen Powell took advantage of the strong offensive performance to get the win for the Indians.

Powell went the distance for Stephens County, scattering six hits and just one run while striking out eight and walking one.

The only run for North Oconee was a solo home run in the bottom of the first inning by Brandon Gaubert.

Austin Coates allowed six runs in four innings to take the loss for the Titans.

With the win, the Indians move to 10-7 overall and 5-4 in the region.

The loss drops North Oconee to 6-8 overall and 2-5 in the region.

These two teams will play again on Friday at the Reservation at 5:55 p.m.
