Hospital: Tax Credit Program Going Well

Stephens County Hospital Administrator Lynne Anderson updates the Hospital Authority on the state’s Rural Health Care Tax Credit program.

She provided that update at Monday’s monthly meeting of the Authority.

Anderson said that the hospital is seeing benefits from the tax credit program and notes there is still time for people to take advantage of the program this year.

“We have had about 21 people contact us and actually ask for approval from the Department of Revenue to make donations to us, so we look forward to that continuing,” said Anderson.

She said the state cap has not been met yet, so donations can still be made.

The state of Georgia has allotted up to $50 million in tax credits this year for eligible rural hospitals in Georgia.

Anderson added that each hospital on the list is eligible to receive up to $2 million from individuals and up to $2 million from corporations through the program.
