Hart County Takes Junior District 7 Title

Paxton Harris pitched six solid innings and Hart County banged out 15 hits on the way to a 7-2 win over Toccoa in the Little League Junior district 7 tournament championship game Wednesday night in Hartwell .

Toccoa took an early lead in the bottom of the 1st inning on Seth Stonecypher’s RBI single, scoring Ryan King. Toccoa would leave the bases loaded in the inning and in the 3rd inning to lead 1-0 going to the 4th.

Hart County’s Wyatt Harrell delivered two of his 4 RBI’s in the 4th inning to give Hart the lead at 2-1. The score remained 2-1 until the top of the 6th inning when Hart County had five straight two out hits and scored 5 runs to stretch the lead to 7-1.

Toccoa added a final run in the bottom of the 7th inning on Caden Hamilton’s double, scoring Thompson Bullard.

Hart County will now advance to face Athens in the state tournament on June 6th in Bartow County.
