Go Tell Crusade Comes To Stephens County

Over 40 churches in the Stephens County and surrounding area have united to bring the Go Tell Crusade to the Stephens County High School Football Stadium Sunday through Wednesday at 7 p.m. nightly.  The event will feature music, testimonies, and a clear gospel message.

Billy Shaw is one of the local leaders helping to bring the Go Tell Crusade to the local area, and he says it has taken over 6 months of planning and a large group of volunteers.  “We have with the 14 different committees that are working, we have approximately 600 people that are involved.”

At least 3000 or more attendees are expected each night at the football stadium.  Each night will be different; for example, Sunday will feature a community mass choir, and Wednesday night will be youth night, and Shaw says there will be something special for the youth.  “Starting around 5:30 at the stadium on Wednesday evening, there will be a large youth rally with pizza for all the youth.  And then they will all join the other congregation into the stadium for the message that night.  So we are really looking forward to getting the youth together.”

Shaw says it has been a lot of hard work, but he is pleased how all the churches involved have come together for a common cause.  “The joy of it has been able to be kinda on the inside and the outside and watch the cooperation between all the churches.  I don’t know the exact number of churches, but we are in the neighborhood of 50 churches in the area, which includes Stephens, Habersham, Franklin, and Banks Counties—that’s been the joy—to see the churches come together for a common cause and that’s bringing the Word to the lost.”

Organizers encourage those attending to park at Christ Fellowship Church located on Highway 17 across from the entrance to the school, and ride a shuttle to the stadium due to limited parking on the school campus.
