Fire At Clayton Business Under Investigation

By Taylor Jones, WRBN Radio, Clayton

The investigation is ongoing into what caused a fire at a Clayton business on Monday morning.

Multiple units reported to a fire at Mama G’s Italian Restaurant on U.S. Highway 441 in Clayton Monday morning.

Rabun County Chief of Fire Daniel Johnson says that the fire was first reported at 7:52 a.m.

On Monday afternoon, County Fire Marshall Scott Crane arrived on the scene.

Crane says that the investigation is still in its early stages, as they had not yet made their way inside the building as of that time.

He does say that witness statements are being gathered.

Crane says the investigation could take a while, calling it a fluent timetable since they are not sure exactly what they are going to find when they get in there.
