Early Voting Ends Today

Stephens County Registrar Theresa Kelley said today is the last day people can vote early for the November election.

“We are here from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.,” said Kelley. “If you do not come in today and vote, you will have to go to the Senior Center on Election Day to cast your ballot. Today is also the last day that you can request an absentee ballot. I cannot mail them out after today, so if you need an absentee ballot, you have to come in and request one. Those absentee ballots need to be in by 7 p.m. Election Day, which is Tuesday, November 4th.”

Early voting takes place downstairs in the Stephens County Government Building in downtown Toccoa.

Voters must remember a picture ID.

Kelley said that so far, there have not been any problems with early voting since it started back on October 13.

“Over 2000 voters have cast their votes already,” said Kelley.

This year, voters in Stephens County are casting ballots in a number of contested state-level races, including Governor, U.S. Senate, and U.S. House of Representatives, among others.

However, there are no contested county-level races in Stephens County on the November ballot.
