Barden Says New Year Will Bring Coaching Changes In Some Sports

With a new high school athletic year just over a month away from starting, Stephens County High School is getting ready to move forward with some changes in the coaching ranks.

Stephens County High School Athletic Director Frank Barden said that the changes have affected a number of different sports.

Barden said that on the football side, it has resulted in assistant coaches picking up some other duties due to departures of two who were assistant coaches last year.

Barden said that other fall sports are also seeing some changes in coaches for next year.

That includes softball and cross country.

Barden said the high school coaches for winter sports, basketball and wrestling, will stay the same.

He said there will be changes, however, to coaches in some spring sports, like track.

Barden said he is excited about the year ahead in all of the sports and is looking forward to a great year.
