Back to School Prayer Motorcade Saturday

With school starting next week for students in Stephens County, an annual back to school event is coming up on Saturday.

It is the annual Stephens County School System Prayer Motorcade.

Jeraldine Hayes and Mary Owenby are again co-coordinating the event.

Hayes said that it will start at 8 a.m. Saturday at the new Stephens County Board of Education office.

“It is at the old Big A Elementary School and it will be starting there at 8 a.m.,” said Hayes.

Other stops include

8:15 a.m. – Toccoa Elementary
8:30 a.m. – Whitman Street Head Start
8:35 a.m. – Liberty Elementary
8:45 a.m. – Big A Elementary
9:05 a.m. – Stephens County Middle School
9:20 a.m. – Stephens County High School
9:35 a.m. – Bus Shop

She went on to say that she feels this is an important thing to do before the start of the new school year.

“All of us can attest to the fact that if there was ever a time that we, as a people of God, need to come together and pray, that time is right in our face,” said Hayes.

Hayes said that everyone, including churches, school staff, students, and parents are encouraged to participate.
