Willie Joe Kay

Willie Joe Kay age 84, of Martin, Georgia passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, January 7th, 2023 at his daughter’s home in San Antonio,Texas.

Born November 1, 1938 in Stephens County Georgia to the late Warnell “ Mack” Kay and Tommie Lee Kay.

He graduated from Whitman Street High School in 1956. Willie relocated to Miami, Florida to further his education. He received a degree in Radio and Television Repair from Walker College. He later received training through Royal Services Corporation which led to the start of his own business, Paramount Services. He also served the community by becoming a bus driver for the Stephens County School System for 25 years.

He was of the Methodist faith and a member of Union Grove C.M.E church in Carnesville Georgia.

While in Florida, he met the love of his life, Alice Faye Hall. They married on October 17, 1958.  Three children were born from this union: Deborah, Warnell, and Kartina.

Willie enjoyed fishing above all else and he made frequent adventurous fishing trips such as; Ice Fishing and Deep Sea Fishing. If you couldn’t find Willie at home he was “ GONE FISHING ”.

Family members include his late wife Alice Faye Kay. She preceded him in death December 28, 1988. Their three children: Deborah Kay Dooley ( Marvin ), Warnell E. Kay II, and Katrina

Kay Poole ( Robert ); Three sisters: The late Pearline Theresa James ( Leon ), Nora Ann Scott, and Nora Mae Parker ( Lamont Sr. ); Seven grandchildren: Timothy W. Kay, Tabetha M.

Harrison (Jason), Marvin L. Dooley III (Courtney) , Joshua C. Kay, Jocelyn A. Wyche (Stephen), Lynsey K. Johnson (Samuel), Alicia B. Poole-Kitchen (Tristan); Thirteen great-grandchildren, and numerous nephews, nieces, and other relatives.

The family asks that you respect their wishes for a private service. Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers.
