In a note from Stephens County Clerk of Superior Court Tim Quick, Stephens County State Court scheduled, originally scheduled for Friday, has been moved to 9 a.m on Wednesday, Jan. 15.

Also, Stephens County School Superintendent Dr. Connie Franklin contacted WNEG News yesterday to provide an update on the school’s plans, saying that a final decision on school closures for tomorrow, Jan. 10, will be made by this evening, Jan. 9

Stephens County Hospital’s Orthopedics Clinic, WorkWell Immediate Care, General Surgery Clinic, Primary Care and Internal Medicine Clinic and the Wound Care Center will be closed on Friday due to the winter storm.

All locations of North Georgia Technical College will be closed due to inclement weather on Friday, January 10, 2025. Updates to the college’s inclement weather closings and reopenings will be posted on the college website as well Facebook and Instagram.

Also, Toccoa Chief of Police Bruce Carlisle advised WNEG News yesterday that he had spoken with the Hope Center in Toccoa, and that they had indicated that they would be opening as a warming shelter on Friday and Saturday. WNEG News will confirm specifics of that announcement today, and will also be meeting with Stephens County Emergency Management Director Danielle Rhodes this morning to discuss county plans in relation to the forecasted weather conditions, and will report any information from meeting later today on wnegradio.com and our social media feed.
