Walmart donates Exercise Bike to SCHS’s Athletic Training Department

Walmart in Toccoa has made a donation to Stephens County High School.

On Thursday, Stephens County High School’s Athletic Trainer Brian Thomason accepted a ProForm 500 SPX Upright Exercise Bike donated by Walmart.

Thomason tells WNEG News that the donation will help student athletes get back on the field faster after an injury.

“We’re very proud of Walmart for donating this exercise bike to the Athletic Department. It will help us get our athletes get back on the field quicker. It’s always great when a community’s store helps out the school. We’re very appreciative of Walmart and thankful to have them in our community,” he said.

Elizabeth Boyd is a student employee in the Athletic Training Department at the High School.

She says the new bike will help a lot.

“We really are thankful for that because it makes it easier, instead of having to use an old one. We’re really thankful to Walmart for providing it,” Boyd said.

Madie Davis another student employee in the Athletic Training Department says she’s thankful for Walmart’s donation.

“It’s going to be really nice to have this indoor cycle thing, because it’ll be really good for stretching them and everything. All the other ones are broke that we have,” Davis said.

The exercise bike retails for $297.
