UPDATE-Toccoa 9-10 Baseball Rolls

The Toccoa 9-10 Baseball All-Stars stay alive in the Georgia Little League State Playoffs in Dudley.

Toccoa trailed Peachtree City 3-1 early and were tied at 3 after 3 innings. Toccoa took the lead in the 4th inning and then broke the game open with a huge top of the 5th inning to roll to an 18-3 victory in five innings.

Christian Hewitt, Caden Hogan, and Kevin Waldrop, Jr. had three hits each, and Hewitt, Hogan, and Grant McGee had 4 RBI’s each.

Waldrop, Jr. was the winning pitcher going 4 innings and striking out 5.

This was the 2nd straight elimination game won by Toccoa. After dropping their tournament opener to Cartersville 5-0, Toccoa has fought back with a 6-2 win over Chatham County and today’s win over Peachtree City.

Toccoa will return to action Tuesday night at 8 P.M. in yet another elimination game facing Warner-Robins. Airtime on 93.1 FM and AM-630 WNEG and at wnegradio.com is scheduled for 7:45 P.M.

The Toccoa 9-10 Softball All-Stars run ended earlier this afternoon falling to the host team Bartow County 2-1 in a state tournament elimination game.
Toccoa took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 4th inning when Bailee Shedd scored on a Carson Stowe double.
Stowe led Toccoa in a pitchers duel between the two teams into the top of the 6th inning, but Bartow County pushed across two runs and then held Toccoa in the bottom of the inning for the victory.
The Toccoa 9-10 Softball All-Stars finish as District 7 Champions and went undefeated in District play.
