Two arrested on Drug-Related Charges on Fair Street

The Toccoa Police Department reports that two individuals were arrested following an investigation conducted at 54 Fair Street.

During the investigation, officers arrested Christie Kirkland, of Toccoa, who was charged with possession of a controlled substance, believed to be fentanyl, and two counts of possession of drug-related objects. Kirkland admitted to possessing and using fentanyl.

Gerald Johnson, also of Toccoa, was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of drug-related objects after admitting to using a glass pipe to smoke methamphetamine.

Further investigation revealed that both individuals were on felony probation at the time of their arrest. As a result, both will also be charged with violation of probation.

Both individuals were taken into custody without incident.

The Toccoa Police Department remains committed to addressing illegal drug activity in the community and encourages anyone with information regarding drug-related crimes to contact local law enforcement.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
