TRAFFIC UPDATE: I-85 Southbound at the SC/GA State Line

This morning, a large truck overturned on the I-85 southbound bridge at the South Carolina-Georgia state line, completely blocking all southbound traffic.
Working alongside the South Carolina Highway Patrol, traffic was successfully rerouted while crews worked to clear the scene.
The overturned truck has now been removed, and SCDOT crews have reopened one southbound lane to help ease the evening commute. That lane is expected to remain open until 7 p.m.
Meanwhile, our contractor is mobilizing to begin repairs to damaged pavement and guardrail caused by the crash.
To safely complete those repairs, I-85 southbound at the state line will fully close again at 7 p.m. Our goal is to complete the work overnight and fully reopen all southbound lanes by 7 a.m. tomorrow.
