Traffic Pattern Shift now in place on Falls Road for Bridge replacement

As a reminder, the Georgia Department of Transportation initiated a traffic pattern shift on State Route 17A at Falls Road over Toccoa Creek.

The shift is in place while the Georgia Department of Transportation and construction partner Williams Contracting Company LLC work to replace the existing 88-year-old bridge.

Construction is expected to last for four months.

The speed limit in this area will decrease to 35 mph for the duration of construction.

The new traffic pattern will be shifted to the right 1,000 feet past Presley Street traveling northbound up to Kincaid Drive.

Motorist will have total access to side street during construction.

Crews will replace the bridge with a new 125-foot-long bridge with a bike lane and sidewalks.

Please use caution as you drive through the impacted construction area.
