TPD asking for public’s help regarding two unrelated incidents

The Toccoa Police Department is asking for the public’s help with two unrelated incidents that occurred during the recent winter storm.

According to Toccoa Police Chief Jimmy Mize, on January 18, officers were dispatched to a breaking and entering at J & C Auto Care on Mize Road.

The complainant advised that sometime during the night someone had cut the lock off the door, entered the office, and took a gun from the filing cabinet.

The subjects also broke open a safe and took a large amount of cash.

The scene was turned over to the Criminal Investigation Division.

Mize says the second incident also occurred on January 18, when officers were dispatched to Morgan Concrete for a report of vandalism.

A garage type door and many vehicle windows and mirrors were spray painted all throughout the premises.

Mize says video from the surveillance cameras showed two individuals walking down Locust Drive at almost midnight on the 17th and heading away from the property on the 18th about 30 minutes later.

The Criminal Investigation Division is working this case as well.

If you have any information regarding these two separate incidents contact the Toccoa Police Department by calling 706-282-3236.
