TPD announces upcoming Citizen’s Handgun Class

The Toccoa Police Department has announced an upcoming Citizen’s Handgun Class.

According to Toccoa Police Chief Jimmy Mize the class will be held at the James A. Neal Training Center, located at 568 Alewine Drive, in Toccoa.

Mize says Captain Eddie Neal and Lt. Kyle Arnold will be the instructors of this class.

The purpose of the class is to educate and instruct civilians on the proper use, safety, and laws regarding firearms.

This level 1 class will be held on Saturday, April 22, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Participants are advised that they will need to provide their own firearm and 50 rounds of ammunition.

.22 caliber firearms are not allowed.

Participants will need to provide their own eye and ear protection.

There will be limited space for this class.

Mize says if you have already taken the Level 1 class from the Toccoa Police Department you will not be eligible to take it again.
