Tough Day for Rebels Basketball

It was a tough day for the Stephens County Middle School Rebels on Saturday vs. Franklin County as Franklin took 3 out of the 4 games played.

The SCMS 8th grade boys basketball team continued their winning ways with a 42-37 win over Franklin County. Corey Richey led the Rebels with 13 points, Aaron Scott had 12, Ben Stowe 9, Cameron Lacey 5, Evan Dumaine 2, and AJ Russell 1. The SCMS 8th grade boys are now 6-2 overall and 4-2 in Region play.

2 for 14 free throw shooting doomed the SCMS 7th grade boys as they fell to Franklin 37-32. Javin Gordon had a game high 18 points to lead Stephens County.  Daeshawn Wilson and Nuri Winters had 4 each.  Tripp Underwood added 3, Devin Cobb 2 and Glavin Frady 1.
The SCMS 7th grade is now 4-4.

In girls action, the SCMS 7th grade team fell to Franklin County 33-25. The SCMS 7th grade girls were led by Aurora Elrod and Jaziya Harbin with 6 points each.  Fayeth Ivester and Dariyah Bell both scored 4 points.  Traynashia Walker scored 3 and Maddie McGee scored 2.

The 7th grade Lady Rebels are now 3-5.

The 8th grade Lady Rebels also fell to Franklin County by a final score of 39-27.
Makiya Knox led the Lady Rebels in scoring with 10 points, Kiara Lopez had 7, Constance Brown 4, and 2 each from Myllazia Pope, Myangel Carter, and Cierra Howard.

The 8th grade Lady Rebels are now 1-7 this season.

All four teams return to action today when they host Rabun County with the games beginning at 4:30 P.M.
