Today is Voter Registration Deadline in Ga. for November Election

With the November election approaching in about a month, the time to make sure you are registered to vote is here.

Stephens County Registrar Theresa Kelley said that today is the deadline for someone to register to vote in order to be eligible to vote in the November election.

“If you are not registered, then you need to be registered by 5 p.m. today,” said Kelley. “There are several different ways you can register. You can register online at the Georgia Secretary of State’s Office website. You can come in the office and do it. That would probably be the better choice at this point. If you have any question about whether or not you are registered, give us a call and we can look you up and make sure we have everything we need for you.”

The Stephens County Registrar’s Office is located downstairs in the Stephens County Government Building in downtown Toccoa.

People can also call the Registrar’s Office at 706-886-8954.

Meanwhile, Kelley said that early voting for the November election will also be starting soon.

“Early voting starts October 13th,” said Kelley. “We will be here from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.”

There is also a Saturday early voting period on October 25th, said Kelley.

Early voting will take place downstairs in the Stephens County Government Building.

Finally, Kelley said anyone needing a mail-in, paper absentee ballot can request one now by contacting her office.
