Toccoa woman arrested following traffic stop

The Toccoa Police Department recently made an arrest following a traffic stop.

According to Toccoa Police Chief Jimmy Mize, on January 11, a Toccoa Police Officer noticed a vehicle traveling south on Big A Road with a taillight out.

While speaking with the driver, the officer noticed the smell of burnt marijuana.

The officer requested the Stephens County K-9 be in route while he ran the driver and two passengers’ information which came back clear.

Stephens County Sheriff’s Deputy Vice arrived with the K-9 and performed a “free air sniff.”

The dog alerted to several areas in the vehicle where it was searched and drugs, drug related objects, baggies, scales and $975 in cash were located.

One of the passengers, Chloe Crawford, 22, of Toccoa was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of drug related objects and possession of a schedule II narcotic.
