Toccoa-Stephens County Recognized by Magazine for Economic Development

Toccoa-Stephens County has been recognized by Southern Business and Development Magazine in the 2015 Georgia Best of Economic Development.
Toccoa-Stephens County was recognized as one of Georgia’s Best Rural location for Manufacturers.
Stephens County was listed with Gainesville, Meriwether County, and Toombs County.
“This is a pretty big deal” says Stephens County Development Authority Executive Director Tim Martin; “The voters that made that nomination and selection come from 17 states and are made up of site selectors, consultants, economists, and educators. We are very proud and pleased to be named.”
Martin says it is not just one group or entity, but everyone working together that plays a role in economic development. “We’ve got a good team. City, County, Chamber of Commerce, the business community has really rallied to the economic development effort of Toccoa-Stephens County, and we are seeing some results from that effort.”
Also named in the magazine was Rabun County as one of the Best Places to Retire in Georgia, and Hart County was not listed as best, but received votes in the Best Tier One Auto Supplier Site category.
