Toccoa-Stephens County Celebrates National Travel and Tourism Week

This week is National Travel and Tourism Week and the Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce is encouraging the community to come out and celebrate with them.

Chamber of Commerce President Julie Paysen discussed the importance of travel and tourism.

“We want to celebrate the hard work of those dedicated to the cause. Travel and Tourism are important factors in communities, it promotes local development,” said Paysen.

Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce Welcome Center Director Sharon Crenshaw told WNEG News about the activities she has planned for this week.

“This week is National Travel and Tourism Week across the country and its a great thing. Travel and Tourism is very important to any community. If you have never been to our Welcome Center then come by this week and we can give you information about local places to see,” Crenshaw said.

Crenshaw added that there will be a daily drawing for various prizes throughout the week.

Some of the prizes include the film Heritage Falls, which features parts of Stephens County as the backdrop, and tickets to Cherry Cherry.
