Toccoa residents will vote at two locations on Election Day

Toccoa residents who are planning to cast ballots for the city commission race and the SPLOST VII Referendum on election day, November 5, will have to vote at two separate locations.

For the city commission race, incumbent David Austin is being challenged by Toccoa resident Inger Neal for post 2.

During election day, voters who wish to cast a ballot for the city commission race must vote at Toccoa City Hall, located at 92 North Alexander Street, in Toccoa.

On the county ballot, residents of Stephens County, including Toccoa, will cast a ballot for the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax VII.

If voters approve the SPLOST VII then collection of the one-cent sales tax will go into effect on July 1, 2020.

If approved, Stephens County and its municipalities will begin receiving revenue from SPLOST VII in January 2021.

To cast a ballot on election day for the SPLOST Referendum, voters will need to go to the Stephens County Senior Center, located at 55 Rose Lane, in Toccoa.

However, note that during the advance voting period, all Stephens County residents will cast ballots at the Stephens County Registrar’s Office for both the SPLOST referendum and the Toccoa City Commission race.

The Stephens County Registrar’s Office is in the County Annex Building located at 12 West Tugaloo Street in downtown Toccoa.
