Toccoa man behind bars after drugs were recovered at his residence

A Toccoa man has been arrested for the possession and distribution of drugs after an investigation led Stephens County Investigators to his house.

According to Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley, the arrest occurred September 24, when Stephens County Sheriff’s Office Investigative Division and officers with the Georgia Department of Community Supervision conducted a search at a residence on Oliff Private Drive.

Shirley says officers with DCS were conducting a fourth amendment waiver search at 26-year-old Albert Lee Bruce’s residence.

At the residence, DCS and Investigators uncovered a large quantity of marijuana, as well as a digital scale.

According to Shirley, DCS Officers had located evidence of the distribution of marijuana on the suspect’s phone.

Bruce was arrested and charged with parole violation, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and use of communication facility in committing a felony.

He was transported to the Stephens County Jail where he remains on a $20,000 bond and a parole violation warrant.
