Toccoa Man Arrested in Connection to Public Fight

A Toccoa man has been arrested and charged in connection to a fight at the Sav-a-Lot in the Collins Road area.

On Tuesday, June 14th, City of Toccoa officers responded to a fight in progress at the Sav-a-Lot. When they arrived, officers found Roy L. Sears with cuts on his right arm. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that Sears was the predominate aggressor in the incident. Sears refused to be transported to the hospital. He was arrested at the scene and faces several charges related to the incident, including public drunkenness, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, criminal damage to property 2nd degree, and criminal interference.

 Sears had a previous encounter with law enforcement earlier in the week on June 12th at the Raceway on Big A Road and was served a barring notice in that incident.
