Toccoa Little League hosts Successful State Tournament
Doyle Street Park was the place to see some great baseball July 5-10, as the Toccoa Little League hosted the Georgia Little League Senior League Baseball State Championship Tournament. Toccoa Little League President Doug McCollum gives details.
Toccoa lost to Vine Ingle on Wednesday, July 9, and the game was delayed one hour, but Toccoa won the tournament by beating Vine Ingle in the deciding game on Thursday, July 10.
McCollum is grateful to all the volunteers for their hard work to make the tournament a success.
Despite the delay on Wednesday, the tournament did not suffer any bad weather, said McCollum, who also thanked all the sponsors.
A big thanks to Ted Taylor for broadcasting the Toccoa Senior League All-Star baseball games on WNEG.
