Toccoa Little League Coach Pitch Baseball Team wins District 7 Championship

The Toccoa Little League Coach Pitch Baseball Team won the District 7 Championship Sunday at Doyle Street Park in Toccoa, 10 to 8, over Hart County. Hart County defeated Toccoa, 10 to 6, on Saturday to give Toccoa their first loss of the tourney, but Toccoa prevailed in the deciding game.
Toccoa’s Rookie Little League Baseball Team won 3 in a row at their tournament in Elberton, including giving Elbert County their first loss in the Championship series, but it was Elbert County who came out on top in the deciding game last night, 25 to 19, to take the District 7 title.
In other District 7 Little League Championship games, Hart County won the Coach Pitch Softball Tournament at Doyle Street Park in Toccoa, 17 to 12, over Elbert County. Franklin County took the championship in Elberton at the Sandlot Baseball Tournament, 14 to 8, over Hart County.
WNEG’s broadcast of Little League All-Star District 7 Tournament games featuring the Toccoa Little League will begin this Friday night, June 6, at the Junior League Baseball Tournament at McWilliams Park in Elberton as Toccoa takes on the host team, Elbert County, with airtime at 5:45 p.m.
