Toccoa City Commissioners share BRAG complements
Thousands of visitors rode through the City of Toccoa on Friday, June 6, as part of the Bicycle Ride Across Georgia or BRAG. This year’s route from Rome to Hartwell had its final overnight stop in Stephens County. At the Toccoa City Commission meeting on Monday, June 9, Toccoa Vice Mayor Evan Hellenga spoke about the compliments he heard from riders.
Toccoa Mayor Terry Carter also heard positive things about the city from those visiting.
Friday night saw the cyclists come to Downtown Toccoa to enjoy shopping and live entertainment. Toccoa City Commissioner Ron Matheson shared some of the compliments he heard from riders at the meeting as well.
This year’s theme of BRAG was “foothills and falls,” so naturally, Toccoa Falls was a must-see. Stops also included Lake Toccoa and downtown before camping overnight at the Stephens County Recreation Department.
