Toast of Toccoa returns to downtown this weekend

Toccoa Main Street is gearing up for its annual Toast of Toccoa event this weekend.

Toast of Toccoa happens this Saturday, May 8th, from noon until 6 p.m. on Doyle Street and replaces Taste of Toccoa, which was held annually for over 25 years in the downtown area.

Main Street Events Coordinator Sharon Crosby says they are hoping for another successful event.

The event is free and open to the public; though, there will be charges for sample tickets, glasses, and t-shirts.

The live entertainment stage will feature the return of Grassland String Band to Downtown Toccoa—seen most recently at the Ida Cox Music Series—Country rockers Dirty Roots will also take the stage.

Also, all of the downtown shops and restaurants will be open and there will be food trucks available.

The City of Toccoa will be offering a variety of regional craft beer and wine samples.

Local winery, Currahee Vineyards will also be set up on site.

A new vendor this year, Farm2Cocktail, will also be set up offering samples and sales.

Crosby says this is a great way to enjoy a leisurely Saturday afternoon.
