Time Running Out to Get Those Packages There for Christmas

Time is running out if you’re planning on sending holiday packages to loved ones.

There are just 14 days left until Christmas and the US Postal Service is reminding everyone about the important dates to get those packages out if you want them to arrive in time for Christmas.

Friday is the last day to send packages by standard ground delivery.

First-class and Priority mail needs to be sent by December 20th.

And if you’re a real procrastinator, you can still send packages Priority Mail Express on the 22nd.

If you’re sending packages to loved ones in the military who are overseas, all packages as well as cards and letters must go out today if you want them to arrive in time for Christmas.

If you missed today’s deadline, you can still get them to your loved one in time for Christmas by sending them Priority Express Mail to Military by the 18th.

And a few pointers to remember when sending packages either across the country or overseas:

When wrapping those gifts for shipment, remember to use a sturdy box, large enough to include padding, such as bubble wrap or packing peanuts.

Also, make sure you use pressure-sensitive tape to secure all box flaps..

And print, don’t write, the address in large, black letters that are easy for postal workers to see and read..and include whether it’s a street, lane, road, etc.

And don’t forget to include the ZIP code and your return address in case there’s a problem with delivery and your package must be returned.
