ThunderGypsy Returns to Ida Cox Music Festival Saturday

ThunderGypsy headlines Saturday’s Ida Cox Music Fest

The second of this season’s Ida Cox Music series will feature a group who has performed in Toccoa before.

ThunderGypsy will be the featured act on Saturday June 8 from 8:00 p.m. – 10:00 pm in downtown Toccoa.

Main Street Event Coordinator Sharon Crosby says they are a popular group with concert goers.

“They’re a lot fun, high energy. They were with us two or three years ago and they were so popular we wanted to have them back. They describe themselves as Southern Soul and Blues, but they do a mix of songs,” Crosby said.

In August 2017, the band competed in and won the Atlanta Blues Challenge and from there, they went on to participate in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN where they played on the legendary stage at B.B. King’s Blues Club.

Additionally, Crosby said a local favorite will open for ThunderGypsy.

“For the first hour, from 7p to 8p, Conrad Moore is going to be performing. He’s a very popular local musician. So, we’re glad he was able to come and join us,” she said.

As always, there will be two food trucks at the music fest from 7p to 10p, and the x-Factor Grill will also be open.

If there is inclement weather, the concert will be moved into the Ritz Theatre.
