The number of COVID cases are up slightly in Stephens County

The spread of COVID-19 is slightly up compared to last week in Stephens County.

According to the Department of Public Health, there have been 4,576 total cases of COVID-19 in Stephens County, since the start of the pandemic, an increase of 19 since WNEG’s report last week.

The DPH is reporting 109 confirmed COVID-related deaths in Stephens County, an increase of 1 since WNEG’s report last Wednesday.

In the last two weeks, ending November 22, the DPH reports a total of 38 new cases in Stephens County.

For surrounding counties, Habersham County has 75 new cases in the last 2 weeks, Rabun County has 33, Banks County has 18, Franklin County 19, and Hart County has 7 new cases.

In Georgia, the DPH is reporting 1,279,849 total cases, an increase of 5,358 since WNEG’s report last week. The DPH also reports an increase of 229 deaths since WNEG’s report last Wednesday, bringing the total to 25,591 confirmed COVID-related deaths across the state of Georgia.
