The Center for Wellness and Recovery of NE GA earns three-year Accreditation

The Center for Wellness and Recovery of Northeast Georgia earns three-year CARF Accreditation.

The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, CARF International, announced that The Center for Wellness and Recovery of Northeast Georgia has been accredited for a period of three years for its residential detox and withdrawal management, residential treatment for alcohol and substance use disorders, and outpatient treatment for alcohol and substance use disorders programs.

According to Founding Partner and CFO Kathy Whitmire, this accreditation decision represents the highest level of accreditation that can be given to an organization and shows the organization’s substantial conformance to the CARF standards.

She says an organization receiving a three-year accreditation has put itself through a rigorous peer review process and demonstrated compliance with over 1,500 standards.

It has demonstrated to a team of surveyors during an on-site visit its commitment to offering programs and services that are measurable, accountable, and of the highest quality.

Organizations accredited by CARF are eligible to apply to become Medicaid providers along with all the commercial insurance carriers.

The Center for Wellness and Recovery of Northeast Georgia is a non-profit organization located at 467 West Doyle Street, in Toccoa.

The center offers 24/7 residential treatment, with 24-hour nursing care and intensive counseling from addiction counselors.

To date, Whitmire says, 25 patients have walked through the doors to begin their road to recovery and these lives have been transformed through a 30-day voluntary detox and treatment program that combines spiritual principles with individual and group counseling, the 12-step program and fully integrated medical care.

Once someone completes the treatment program, they progress into outpatient counseling and attend weekly Recovery meetings.

Whitmire says, “we are committed to changing the way addiction has been treated here in Toccoa-Stephens County. Addiction is a disease that can be cured with the right treatment and follow-up care. Our goal is to stay connected to those that complete the program and to build a strong Recovery Community.”
