The cause of death of a Dahlonega woman found in Stephens County over the weekend is still not known

The cause of death has yet to be released for the Dahlonega woman who was found Saturday morning on Broken Bridges in Stephens County.

The body of 65-year-old Pamela Bellamy of Grindle Bridge Road, in Dahlonega, was discovered Saturday morning by a couple walking their dog at the Stephens County Boat Ramp and Park.

According to Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley, preliminary investigations revealed Bellamy had arrived there sometime late Friday night or early Saturday morning.

Stephens County Coroner Chris Stephens transported the body to the GBI Crime Lab in Atlanta for autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.

However, the Sheriff said Sunday they do not believe there was any foul play, and his office is awaiting the results of that autopsy.

At this time, the Sheriff’s Office has yet to release any additional information regarding the death of Bellamy.
