TFC presents the Vulcan Teaching Excellence Award to Thomas Nichols
Toccoa Falls College (TFC) is honored to recognize Professor Thomas Nichols, Associate Professor of Sport Management, as the 2025 recipient of the Vulcan Teaching Excellence Award.
Professor Nichols has served Toccoa Falls College faithfully for the past four years and is recognized for this current year of teaching excellence and for his overall work with our faculty and students. After earning a Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts from Clarks Summit University and a Master of Education from East Stroudsburg University, Professor Nichols spent many years in the corporate sport management world, most recently at Riverfront Sports in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
Professor Nichols’ excellence is reflected in his commitment to his students’ growth inside and outside of the classroom. He routinely incorporates his previous professional experience into the classroom and facilitates student trips to key sites and companies in sport management. He has served in several capacities at Toccoa Falls including as a Barnabas Group leader and the Black Student Union Club sponsor. He currently chairs the Faculty Health and Wellness Committee and serves on the Athletic Committee. Professor Nichols frequently attends student functions and athletic events while being active in his church and in the community.
As he engages students in the classroom or models effective leadership in the campus community, Professor Nichols embodies the mission of TFC to develop our character and intellect. We are proud to have him represent the college as the 2025 recipient of the Vulcan Teaching Excellence Award.
