TFC Basketball Update

The Toccoa Falls College men’s basketball team split a pair of games over the weekend.

On Friday and Saturday, the Screaming Eagles played Boyce College and Spalding University on Friday at Oglethorpe University.

Friday, TFC beat Boyce 97-69 behind 28 points from Jon Sauls and 17 points from Josh Barrett.

However on Saturday, NCAA Division III Spalding handed TFC its first loss of the season, 71-67.

Josh Barrett had 31 points for the Screaming Eagles against Spalding and Derek Westfall had 19 points.

Next up for the 5-1 TFC men is trip to the Citadel on Wednesday for an exhibition and Warren Wilson College on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the TFC women’s basketball team dropped a pair of games over the weekend in a tournament at Johnson University of Tennessee.

The Screaming Eagle women first lost to Johnson University of Tennessee, 55-53, then lost to Grace Bible College, 81-76.

Alana Jones had 19 points for TFC against Johnson and Katie Calloway added 10 points.

Jones and Mallorie Collum each scored 14 points then against Grace, while Cassidy Lang scored 13 and Calloway had 10 points.

Next up for the TFC women is Wesleyan College on Thursday at 6 p.m. at home.
