TES Student’s design picked for the annual SCH’s Christmas card

The Stephens County Hospital recently announced the winner of its 7th Annual Christmas Card Contest.

This year’s winner is local artist and 4th-grader Rylynn Breeden, 9, of Stephens County.

Breeden told WNEG News about winning this year’s contest and her creative process.

“I had this thing I did before, and I kind of messed up on it and so I started over,” she said. “So it kind of helped me out when I did that. It feels pretty good, but, I would thank a lot of people who gave me support, like my mom.”

Breeden’s Art teacher Timothy Mitchell says Breeden is creative student.

“She’s a great student. She is creative and always does her best at everything she does,” he said.

The Christmas Card that features Breeden’s artwork will be on sale at the hospital’s gift shop.

Stephens County Hospital Foundation Director Pamela Jones tells WNEG News about how the hospital selected Breeden’s card design.

“We get all of the entries and lay them out, and pick the best one for our Christmas Card. We will be selling the Christmas Card with Rylynn’s drawing in the hospital gift shop, and all proceeds go to the Foundation,” Jones said.

The Foundation of Stephens County Hospital is a not-for-profit tax-exempt 501(c)(3) philanthropic corporation that supports programs and services that improve healthcare at Stephens County Hospital, as well as supporting community outreach programs.
