TCC awards bid for Alum Lagoon Dredging project

The Toccoa City Commission awarded a bid to Evans-based Press Rentals for the Alum Lagoon Dredging Project.

According to Toccoa City Manager Billy Morse, the city received bids from four companies.

“Both Alum storage Lagoons at the water plant are in need of dredging. We requested bids from six companies, and received four,” Morse said. “The low bidder at $69,450 is Press Rentals out of Evans, Georgia. The staff and our consulting engineers are recommended Press Rentals be awarded the job. You have budgeted $100,000 for water R and E (repairs and expenses), so these funds are available.”

Morse tells WNEG News Press Rentals is the same company that was used in 2019 for the Lagoon Dredging.

Commissioner David Austin made a motion awarding Press Rentals the bid for the dredging project.

The motion was approved unanimously.
