Stephens County’s Amnesty Day has been cancelled

Stephens County has cancelled its April 4, Amnesty Day event.

According to Stephens County Administrator Phyllis Ayers the cancelation comes as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

She adds that county officials are looking at a later date to reschedule the event.

The Stephens County Board of Commissioners just recently set the date of the annual event that allows Stephens County residents to dump their junk for free; however, due to the increasing risk of the Coronavirus, county officials felt it was necessary to cancel the event until further notice.

The Amnesty Day Event provide an opportunity for county residents to dispose of any junk that may be cluttering the streets, yards, and homes in the county.
