Stephens County will certify Jan. 5th election results today

The Stephens County Registrar’s Office and Board of Electors will begin certifying the January 5th General Runoff election results.

According to Stephens County Registrar Eureka Gober, they will start the process of certifying the results today at 4 p.m. at the Registrar’s Office inside the Historic Stephens County Courthouse.

The public is invited and encouraged to come oversee the process.

The January 5th Runoff Election in Stephens County included three races; around 10,000 voters went to the polls to select their candidate for the United States Senate; the United States Senate, to fill the unexpired term of Johnny Isakson; and Public Service Commissioner.

For United States Senate, voters in Stephens County had Republican Incumbent David Perdue with 7,979 votes to Democrat Challenger John Ossoff’s 2,058.

For United States Senate, to fill the unexpired term of Johnny Isakson, Stephens County voters had Republican Incumbent Kelly Loeffler with 7,975 votes to Democrat Challenger Raphael Warnock’s 2,059 votes.

For Public Service Commissioner, Stephens County voters had Republican Incumbent Lauren Bubba McDonald with 8,024 votes to Democrat Challenger Daniel Blackmon’s 1,903 votes.

Again, beginning today at 4 p.m. Stephens County Registrar and Board of Electors will certify the results for the January 5th General Runoff election.
